HERITAGE ACADEMY, situated in the lush green belt of Prestbury in Pietermaritzburg, is an independent Christian school founded in 1990.
The Principal is Mr Job Sibiya, who took office at the end of 2019, after having served the school unstintingly as a Science Educator, Deputy Principal, and acting Principal over the previous years.
We offer a full range of classes for boys and girls from Grades R to 12, as well as boarding facilities on-site.
At Heritage Academy, we aim to prepare young people for leadership in Christ, encouraging them to be adventurous and committed to growing in their faith and its application to all spheres of life.
We desire to “grow children big on the inside”, strong in their faith, and acknowledging Jesus as King of their lives.
2024 Matric Results
We are very pleased to announce that our Matric class acquitted themselves very well in the 2024 final examinations.Our pass rate was 95.7%.
Congratulations to all concerned, and thank you to our staff, once again, for your dedication and hard work.
Academics
We consistently achieve an excellent pass rate, with a number of our Grade 12 classes having achieved outstanding results.
Mission & Community Service
Our learners are encouraged to be a part of mission teams travelling both locally and abroad, while locally they are regularly involved in projects such as collecting food, clothes and gifts for orphanages and disadvantaged preschools as well as ministering in old age homes.
Sport
At Heritage Academy our sports awards are based not only on success on the sports field, but also on leadership skills, peer encouragement, application of our code of conduct, Christian spiritual maturity and eligibility to represent the school.

Heritage Academy was one of only eight schools out of the 60 schools under Msunduzi Municipality that achieved a 100% pass rate.
